Branwyne

Seamstress

BRANWYNE is a tall woman with light brown hair, in her early twenties. She looks after herself, and does her best to look after Mermedac too.

Branwyne is a native of Sarbreenar, the daughter of a tavern keeper in the lower city. She learned her trade from her mother, and being nimble and dextrous, soon took to it. While still a girl she started working in the tavern, to earn a few coppers more than her sewing could. It was while doing this that she met Mermedac, then aged 47, and recently bereaved.

It was her kindness to him that encouraged him to stay in Sarbreenar, and her contacts in the local taverns that gave him the idea of importing wines into Sarbreenar. She also soon realised that in addition to selling furs to the city there was money to be made in selling finished fur garments. Branwyne has developed a range of fur lined cloaks, and suits, ideal for travellers in the mountains. These are sold both through their store in Sarbreenar, and through Mermedac’s family in Ravens Bluff.

Branwyne first met Oweyn four years ago, and over time their friendship has grown. They first got to know each other well over a bottle of Mermedac’s fine imported Turmish wine, on a cold winter’s evening about three years ago. Since then they have been more than good friends. But Branwyne has not seen Oweyn for a long time and he doesn’t yet know she has had a child. There are some vicious tongues wagging that speculate whether Oweyn or Mermedac is the father. As long as Mermedac does not suspect Oweyn of being involved she intends to let him assume that the child is his.
