Drake’s Perch

On the heights, outside the western walls of the City

HE keep on the rutt of a mountain was used as a perch by a green drake prior to its attack on Sarbreenar. It sat there to ponder which bit to destroy first. It later moved on to attack Procampur. The drake, or dragon, is remembered as the Sarbreenar Wyrm.

The keep had been built because this strategic vantage point was considered so important by the Dwarves of the area. No one can remember when it was completed but it is very old indeed. It’s now in use by the City Guard as a base of operations. Much of it is carved out of the solid rock, so it can withstand a considerable beating.

In the year 1371 DR Sarbreenar was almost annihilated by a large humanoid army. Drake’s Perch failed to protect the city against giants who gained the heights and threw down great boulders onto the City. They destroyed the western walls so that their shock troops could break through. This was known as the Third Razing of Sarbreenar.
