The history of Sarbreenar

The Third Razing of Sarbreenar

N THEyear 1371 DR Sarbreenar was almost annihilated by a large humanoid army.

Battle for SarbreenarSoon after dawn on the day of the attack, Lord Lightsblood led Sarbreenar’s constables to drive off several gnolls from near the town walls and but they were ambushed and badly mauled by a force of hill giants and ogres. They barely escaped with their lives. The marauders decimated Krakov Great Axe’s hastily assembled Town Guard and broke through the walls into the town by hurling massive boulders from a hill that overlooked the town. Orcs and gnolls poured through the opening and began to plunder, while the giants tore apart many of the buildings and fortified towers. Many residents tried to flee into the mountains, taking what few possessions they could grab quickly, but many of these were cut down by orcs and gnolls. By the end of the day, the town lay in ruins, and the humanoids were gone.

Ravens Bluff responded quickly once word of the attack came, but the force led by Field General Lord Blacktree arrived too late to save Sarbreenar. The army from Ravens Bluff followed up the re-grouping invaders. During the ensuing conflict three notable battles were fought in or near Sarbreenar:

The Engagement at Sarbreenar

The disciplined forces of Ravens Bluff easily won this battle thanks to efforts in securing supplies and disrupting the enemy movement. Much of the credit went to the 7th Special Assault Squad trained by the Temple of Tempus.

The Massacre at High Trail

After the victory at Sarbreenar, the enemy counter attacked with a great horde of humanoids together with strong magical support. They attempted to destroy the army from Ravens Bluff, who were regrouping. The battle was won decisively by Lord Blacktree’s force and the monstrous southern army was practically annihilated.

The Siege of Sarbreenar

Raven’s Bluff forces finally removed the last of the enemy from the southern villages and mountains. The way to Procampur was secured once more.
