Mythic
Slightseer
Ex-Deputy Spellcasters Guildmaster and advocate for
the greater understanding of magic
YTHIC
SLIGHTSEER is a moonelf of non-descript appearance, an aspect he
has always deemed to cultivate. Thin and willowy he looks he would
blow over in a
stiff breeze but his preternatural balance and reflexes have stood
him in good stead in his adventuring career. A self confessed Spell-Filcher
he learnt the art of thievery to
redistribute magic to those who had would use it more responsibly',
but seemed to decide that the more responsible person was himself.
Upon establishing himself in
Sarbreenar five years ago he found himself with some of the more
powerful and respected citizens if Sarbreenar. One of the first
friends he had was Angel Gabriel who first made him welcome in Sarbreenar,
but his firmest friends were Boris the Hat who after saving his
life at great risk to his own, Mythic defended to the exclusion
of all others, and the priest of Lathander, Samian Ware. He openly
admits that he would put there safety above his own.
A naturally distant person
he did not seek out many others until cruelly tortured by the corrupt
members of the Honest Watch, something that he will never forgive
or forget. An elf's lifespan is long and he shrugs off what he sees
as excuses for a deep corruption within Sarbreenar that would allow
such excess of lawfulness.

A founding member of the Crusaders
of Shadow and Light he now distances himself from what he sees as
the poor shadow of the dream. For many years a respected member
of the Spellcasters Guild, he worked his way up to Deputy-Guild
master and introduced the Slightseer Outreach Programme to the citizens
of Sarbreenar. He still gives up much of his time to encouraging
apprentices to other mages, trying to develop trust between the
citizens and the spellcasters, and acts a general font of information
regarding the Spellcasters Guild.
He was greatly disturbed in
his deputy role when his views were ignored by the guild master
and mages who had accidentally injured others while attempting to
save Sarbreenar were demoted and ostracised within the guild. His
greatest regret was his failure to save the life of Melgar and in
fact being the cause of it through a desperately hurried spell.
This led Mythic to immediately resign his role within the hierarchy
of the guild, as he would have seen it as hypocritical to attempt
to retain his role when other mages had been demoted for less. Melgar
was subsequently raised but the experience left a permanently bitter
taste in Mythic's mouth and led him to devote more time to research
and his new love ... magical crafting.
Today Mythic can be seen talking
to the people of Sarbreenar encouraging tolerance and understanding
of magic, or occasionally flying over the forests nearby with his
falcon familiar, Maggot.
