Religious bodies of Sarbreenar
HE
DEVOUT citizens of Sarbreenar gain strength and support from their
faith and from the established temples of the city.
Requirements
Worshipper
-
Anyone may come to worship at any of the temples
around Sarbreenar. Indeed many frequently venerate multiple
gods, with most churches being very busy on their respective
holy days.
-
There are no costs for worshipping a particular
deity.
Member
-
Members of a church contribute to the running
and servicing of that church. The bulk of members are priests
and acolytes, training in the way of their faith. However other
devout citizens have been known to take a more active role in
the running of their church.
-
Church membership takes 30TU per year.
-
A character can only be a member of one church.
-
The Elven, Dwarvern, Halfling and Gnomish pantheons
are considered to be "one church". Each of these pantheons
shares traits in common and worship is communal between gods.
-
Church members may be asked to perform additional
duties by their High Preist. The nature of these duties will
vary depending on the church (and indeed, the High Priest).
High Priest
-
The High Priest of each religion is in charge
of his or her temple and has many responsibilities within Sarbreenar.
Each religion may only nominate one High Priest and the High
Priests in turn report to the Minister for Spiritual Affairs
(currently Samian Ware) with regard to civic affairs.
-
It is the High Priests responsibility
to manage the church funds, organise the membership and maintain
his or her temple or shrine. Many High Priests delegate their
tasks to junior members within the church. Others run a more
rigid system.
-
The many and varied duties of a High Priest
takes 100TU per year. This includes Temple Administration (described
in the Temple Building document).
