Dromm’s Smithy

ROMM Graithkin is an armourer who specialises in standard weapons of the highest quality. He won’t undertake the construction of anything exotic but he is an expert with all swords, daggers, shields and metal armour. He turns away any leatherwork. ‘Take yer greasy leatherwork elswhere. I deal in cold steel!’ says Dromm.

The smithy backs on to the main city wall and has large well made double doors and two large windows on its main section. To one side there is a single door with the word ‘Shoppe’ burnt into the wood. Stacked against an outside wall is a large pile of firewood. The door has no lock but there is a slide bolt on the outside. Wound round the bolt is a finely made and freshly oiled padlock. The windows also have slide bolts worked from the inside.

Inside the smithy, well used tools hang from hooks on one wall. On the opposite is a large collection of expertly crafted weapons ranging from small swords to vicious pikes . The room has two large anvils and three furnaces. A bin in the back of the room contains iron rods of various lengths, and a larger bin can be seen to be full of charcoal. Next to the bins are two large barrels filled with water. The main room is about 30' by 20' with a door leading through into a small display room, about 15' by 15', that contains a variety of glass cases filled with weapons and mannekins draped with armour in various states of manufacture. The walls are covered with a great variety of metalware – mostly weapons. Towards the back of the room is a small desk with a large leather bound tome resting on it. A single door leads to the outside.
